The Alleppey backwaters are best visited between October and March, but rain can occur outside monsoon season too. Our Premium houseboats are designed for all weather — the covered deck and interior lounge mean the trip continues comfortably regardless. Monsoon season (June to August) brings heavy rain that affects navigation, which is why we don’t recommend booking during those months. Light rain during peak and shoulder season — which happens occasionally — actually makes the backwaters strikingly beautiful. The crew navigates safely in all reasonable conditions and will advise if anchoring early is the better call.
Yes. This is one of the clearest distinctions between Premium and Deluxe. Air conditioning in Premium houseboats runs from 12:00 Noon — when you board — through to 9:00 AM the following morning at checkout. There’s no gap, no waiting until 9 PM. If you’re travelling during the warmer months (March through June) or simply prefer the option to cool down during the afternoon, the full-day AC coverage is a meaningful practical difference.
Yes. Most premium houseboat packages include welcome drinks, lunch, evening tea and snacks, dinner, and breakfast.
Premium is our most popular category, which means it books faster than Deluxe. For travel in peak season (November to February), book 6 to 8 weeks in advance at minimum. December and the Christmas–New Year window regularly sell out 2 to 3 months ahead — if those are your dates, book as soon as the trip is confirmed. For shoulder season (September–October, March), 3 to 4 weeks is generally sufficient. For summer travel (April–June), availability is higher, but given the heat, we’d suggest considering your AC needs carefully — Premium’s full-day AC coverage makes it the practical minimum for summer comfort.
